Weight first: 6.20 carats in one oval sapphire, dark enough that the shoulders of the stone go almost black and the blue opens only where light reaches the table. Four yellow gold claws hold it, and a tight circle of pave diamonds runs right around the girdle, so a thin white line separates the blue from the gold and makes the head read wider than the stone alone.
The shank crosses beneath that circle and each arm carries diamonds that taper as they run down toward the finger. At this scale the ring covers the span between the knuckles. Sized 7 US.
