This is a navette plaque rather than a single stone ring. A marquise shaped panel of bright silver at the center carries a small group of blue sapphires, marquise and round cuts set close together in a vertical line, and around that panel runs a double row of round rubies, roughly thirty of them, following the pointed outline the whole way and spilling a short distance onto each shoulder.
The ruby settings are darkened rather than polished, which sinks the metal back and lets the red read as an unbroken band. The 1.16 carats of ruby divided across that many stones means each one is very small; the effect comes from the massing, not from any individual stone. At size 6 the plaque runs well up the finger, longer than it is wide.
