An emerald cut sapphire to each ear, set upright with four white gold prongs gripping the corners so the long axis runs vertically down the lobe. At 6 x 4 mm the outline is narrow and clean, and the step cut facets throw broad flat planes of blue rather than the fine scatter of a brilliant, which makes the color look even across the whole face.
0.78 carats covers the pair, and white gold keeps the mount quiet so nothing interrupts the rectangle of blue. The prongs are the only metal visible from the front, and the setting sits close enough to the lobe that the stones lie flat rather than tilting forward.
