Each stud is a flower cluster of seven round blue sapphires: six petals set tight around a seventh at the middle, every stone held by small yellow gold beads that sit in the seams between them so the metal reads as points of light rather than a frame. Fourteen stones across the pair come to 0.82 carats in total, which puts each sapphire near six points, and the massing is what carries the design rather than any single stone.
At 10 by 9 millimeters the cluster is very nearly round and covers a good part of the lobe, sitting flat against it instead of standing away. The sapphires read dark, and the yellow gold beading picks out the outline of each petal so the flower shape stays legible at conversational distance rather than dissolving into one blue mass.
