Two round brilliant sapphires, 1.69 carats for the pair, sit in plain four prong baskets of 10K white gold. The color is deep enough to read close to navy across most of the crown, opening into brighter blue where the facets catch. At six millimeters across, each stone covers the lobe and reads as a solid point of color at a few paces rather than as scattered sparkle.
The claws are narrow and finish just over the girdle, so almost nothing of the metal shows from the front. White gold against this depth of blue keeps the edge clean and cool.
