A large oval blue topaz carries the center, ringed by a tight halo of small white stones, and two smaller blue topaz are set on the diagonal just outside that frame, one above and one below, so the three step across the finger instead of lining up straight. The halo is white metal against a yellow toned shank, and the split is deliberate: the bright frame holds the blue in and the warm band carries the whole head.
Eight carats of topaz across the three stones gives the head genuine width on the hand, cocktail scale achieved by spread rather than by height. The blue is cool and light, paling toward the shoulders of the oval where the pave sits closest to it. Size 7.
