Each drop is a single large blue topaz set corner up in a plain gold plated bezel, so the square hangs as a diamond shape from its own point. The crown is cut into a checkerboard of small squares, which spreads light across the whole face in a grid rather than returning it from a few broad facets.
28.90 carats across the pair is a great deal of topaz, and at 38 by 20 millimeters the drops are as wide as they are long. Gold plated silver runs from the shepherd hook down into the frame, and that warm outline against pale blue is most of the design.
