Each drop is built around an emerald cut blue topaz, a step cut rectangle wide enough to show long open flashes rather than fine sparkle, and the blue in it stays clear and even from corner to corner. A close halo of small white topaz runs all the way around the four sides, and gold plated prongs grip the stone at its clipped corners.
Above the halo sits a triangular gold plaque with the pearl set into its face, linking up to a lever back fitting. At 39 millimeters the weight of the design falls low, so the color swings well below the lobe.
