Each drop is an emerald cut blue topaz, the long parallel steps of the cut clearly readable through the table, held at the four corners by single claws. A small arc of round white topaz caps the top edge of each stone, colorless and bright where it meets the blue. The drops hang free from lever backs on a short link, so they swing forward and take light from below the ear rather than sitting flat against it.
At 29 by 9 millimeters the pair runs tall and narrow, and splitting 7.76 carats of blue topaz across two stones gives each one real presence without making the earring heavy. Sterling silver keeps the setting cool and neutral, so the sky blue stays the only color in play.
