Oval blue topaz runs the whole front of each hoop, stone after stone in yellow claws, the ovals laid on their sides so they follow the curve instead of sitting square to it. Pale blue on a warm gold ground is the point of the piece, and the inner face of the hoop is left as plain polished metal so nothing competes with the row.
The section at the top where the hinged closure sits stays plain as well, and the stones pick up just below it and carry round from there. At 25 millimeters across and 4 wide the circle is small, though the topaz stands slightly proud of the band, which makes the hoop read a little heavier than that measurement suggests.
