Round blue topaz is set right across the front of this necklace, scattered along fine branching stems of gold plated silver so the stones sit at different heights instead of in one straight row. Larger stones anchor the ends of the branches and smaller ones fill the spaces between, and the two halves mirror each other down to a point at the center front.
The stems are lightly textured, so the metal catches light on its own rather than reading flat between the stones. The topaz stays pale and cool where the plating runs warm, which is most of the contrast in the piece. An 18 inch cable chain carries the front section and closes with a lobster clasp.
