A cushion cut Swiss blue topaz of 6.94 carats fills almost the entire face of this pendant, held by four corner prongs inside a squared silver frame. That frame and the tapered bail above it are finished in diamond cut beading, tiny domed points worked directly into the metal, so the border sparkles without a single set stone in it.
The effect is to enlarge the piece visually: the bright beaded edge reads at a distance as part of the stone's own outline. In sterling silver, 23 by 16 mm.
