A pear cut blue topaz carries most of the weight, ringed by small round rhodolite garnets that turn raspberry against the pale blue. Marquise cut amethysts crown the top of the drop and finish the point at the bottom, so the outline tapers at both ends rather than hanging as a plain teardrop. At thirty six millimetres long and fifteen wide it reads as a slim vertical at the neck, longer than the carat total would suggest.
