Five oval blue topaz run in a single row along the top of a wide sterling silver band, laid shoulder to shoulder and walled in along both long edges by the metal, so the line crosses the finger unbroken. The color is pale, nearer to sky than to ink, and it lightens further where the silver reflects up into the stones.
The band is broad and flat-topped, which gives the piece the profile of a half band rather than a raised setting; the row sits almost level with the metal. The 0.94 carats quoted is the total across all five stones, so each one is modest and the effect comes from the run of them. Size 7.
