An oval blue topaz sits in a smooth white metal bezel at the middle of each earring, ringed by a close halo of round tanzanites, twenty to the earring, and then by a second plain metal rim that lifts the whole disc proud of the lobe. Two blues meet on one face here, the light sky blue of the topaz and the cooler violet blue of the tanzanite around it, and the white metal keeps both readings honest.
At 18 by 17 millimeters the face is very nearly round and covers most of the earlobe, which is what makes a halo stud legible at conversational distance. Each earring closes with a post and a hinged omega clip, so the weight is carried flat against the ear rather than tipping forward.
