Pale ice blue topaz against warm yellow metal is the whole proposition here, and it is a stronger contrast than the same stones in silver would give. Ovals run east to west in gold tone four prong heads, with a small openwork gold link between each pair so the colour arrives in separate marks rather than as a continuous band.
The topaz stays light enough to read cool against the metal instead of warming toward green. 11.20 carats spread over 7.25 inches, closing with a box clasp.
