An oval brown tourmaline cabochon holds the middle, its color shifting between olive and dark umber depending on where the light lands, the dome giving back one soft even sheen instead of separate flashes. Six pear cut aquamarines fan out around it like petals, pale blue and faceted, and the temperature difference between the cool petals and the warm center is the whole idea of the piece.
Small pale stones fill the notches where the petals meet, and a scalloped row of tiny white rounds runs the entire outer edge, so the head reads as one broad oval medallion close to the width of the finger. The metal is kept dark and recessed behind the stones, which pushes the color forward. 6.34 carats in total.
