The central field of this domed band is a dense pave of champagne diamonds set into blackened metal, and the darkened setting is doing real work: it removes the bright metal that normally sits between pave stones, so the brown reads deeper and warmer than the same stones would in polished silver. Either side, a pointed marquise shaped panel breaks the pattern, blue diamonds on one shoulder and yellow on the other, 0.16 carats each against 0.58 of champagne. Bright polished silver edges frame the whole top and give the eye somewhere to rest.
