The 1.78 carats of chrome diopside here is not one stone but a dense field of small round ones, pave set across a domed oval face in blackened metal so that the green sits almost unbroken from edge to edge. Chrome diopside is a saturated forest green with very little blue in it, and massed like this the color reads far stronger than any single stone of this weight could manage. Two smooth polished silver forms curl in from either side and hold the dome, which keeps the ring from being simply a paved lump.
