One oval citrine holds the center, a long face of warm golden orange gripped by four doubled claws. The twenty two orange sapphires around it close into a complete halo rather than a line, small rounds set edge to edge so the outer ring reads as one continuous band of deeper red orange. The two colors work against each other right at the boundary, the citrine lighter and more yellow, the halo pulling toward amber.
The shank is plain and polished, tapering out of a wide shoulder so nothing competes with the head. Worn, the oval lies lengthwise along the finger, which makes 8.50 carats read taller than it does wide. Ring size 7 US.
