A round citrine holds the center of each earring in a warm golden yellow, encircled by two tight rows of white diamonds that step down into the frame and throw a close ring of light around the stone. Above the circle sits a small rectangular plaque in darkened metal carrying four champagne diamonds, tawny rather than white, which pick up the citrine's warmth from a second direction.
That contrast between the shadowed surmount and the bright silver beneath it is the point of the design. Sterling silver keeps the scale compact at 15 by 10 millimeters, small enough to sit flat to the lobe with the hinged fitting closing behind.
