These are inside out hoops: square cut citrines run the full circle on the outer face and carry on around the inner face as well, held in shared prongs so the line of stone never breaks. Seen in profile the hoop reads as a double row of light, and from straight on there is no plain metal left to interrupt it.
Citrine's warm yellow and the gold plating pull in the same direction, which is why the earring reads as one glowing band rather than as stone set against metal. The pair carries 4.78 carats over sterling silver.
