A cushion cut citrine sits at the center of this pendant, its warm golden color lifted by the black spinel packed around it. The spinel runs several rows deep across the full oval face, so the plaque reads as solid black from a step away and the citrine appears to float on it.
Sterling silver holds the arrangement, with a fluted bail above and a fine cable chain. At 35 by 19 millimeters the piece has real presence at the neckline, and the black field makes it read as a dark oval first and a colored stone second.
