A large round citrine holds the center of this cocktail ring, cut with long brilliant facets that carry a clear honey gold from the table out to the girdle. Around it runs a full halo of round garnets, each in its own claw with small gold beads worked into the gaps, so the red presses straight up against the yellow with no metal border to separate them.
The proportion is deliberately large. Worn, the head covers the finger from edge to edge and stands well clear of a shank that stays narrow behind it. Of the 7.24 carats in total, 5.58 belongs to the citrine and the remaining 1.66 is divided among the garnets in the surround.
