Sixty oval sapphires are set in two parallel rows here rather than one, so the bracelet lays a band of blue two stones wide across the wrist. Each stone sits in its own four claw head with the claws shared between neighbors, and the rows are linked segment by segment so the whole length flexes and follows the curve of the arm.
The blue is very dark, close to navy, and the rhodium plated silver between the stones supplies all of the brightness; against that white the sapphires read almost black until a facet turns into the light. Twenty-eight and eight tenths carats over seven and a half inches gives the piece real heft, and it closes with a box clasp and hinged safety catch set into the row so the line of stones stays unbroken.
