This is a curb link chain, not a straight row of stones. Broad interlocking links run the whole circuit, and every other one carries a band of small round diamonds pavé set along its curved face, so a white line snakes through the gold rather than sitting on top of it. The plain links between are left polished and unadorned, which gives the diamond work somewhere to rest.
The links are wide enough that the bracelet holds its shape off the wrist and reads as a solid gold chain from a distance, with the pavé only resolving into separate stones up close. A concealed box clasp with a safety catch closes it at 7.75 inches.
