Each earring is a solid pear shaped plate with its entire face paved in small round diamonds, packed so tightly that almost no metal shows between them. The mount is a darkened metal carried right up to the girdle of every stone, and that dark ground turns the massed diamonds into a working surface rather than a row of separate flashes.
The pair hangs from slim darkened ear wires at 35 by 18 millimeters, broad across the base and drawn to a point at the top, filling the space under the lobe without needing extra length. 2.60 carats of diamond in total.
