The unusual thing here is what is missing: the center of this band is an open grille of vertical bars with daylight behind it, divided into two panels, rather than a solid face. Rows of small pave diamonds run above and below the openwork, 0.18 carats across the lot, so the stones outline a void instead of filling one. Gold plated borders and shank enclose the pale metal panel. On the hand the piercing makes a wide band feel much lighter than its width suggests.
