This is not a continuous run of green. Each of the twenty-four emeralds is a small round claw set at the middle of its own square link, and every link is a substantial cushioned plaque with milgrain beading worked around two stepped borders, so the stone takes up only a small share of the surface it sits on. The bracelet reads as a chain of bright, finely detailed white plaques punctuated at regular intervals by green.
Twenty-four stones across 2.38 carats comes to about a tenth of a carat each, which is exactly what the photograph shows: small, closely matched rounds in a bright bluish green rather than a dark forest tone. The 18K white gold plating keeps all that beaded edging catching light, and there is a great deal of edging. Plaques hinge directly to one another and a concealed box clasp closes the run at 7.5 inches.
