Six pear cut opals are arranged as petals around a single round white topaz at the centre, each petal outlined in its own row of pavé white topaz so that every opal sits inside a bright border. The opals total 1.48 carats and show the play of colour the species is known for as the hand turns, with the topaz adding 0.20 carats between and around them.
It is a floral cluster in the older sense, built petal by petal rather than stamped from a single head, and those outlines are what hold the shape together. Sterling silver, ring size 6 US.
