These are inside out hoops. The oval garnets continue around the inner face as well as the outer, so the red is there when the earring faces forward and again as it turns away from the lobe. Each stone lies east to west between paired claws, with a short bar of bright metal showing between one and the next, which keeps the stones legible as individual ovals rather than as a single band.
The color runs dark, with a plum cast in shadow and a clearer red where light passes through the crown. Twenty-four millimeters tall and three wide, close enough to the lobe to sit quietly.
