A heart cut garnet of 5.24 carats, faceted right across its crown, carries the centre of this pendant. A continuous halo of round white topaz follows the heart outline the whole way around, into the cleft at the top and out to the point at the base.
The prongs and bail are gold plated while the halo settings stay bright white, so warm metal frames the piece at its edges and cool metal sits directly against the stones. Garnet at this depth of red goes almost black in low light and opens to a clear crimson in direct light. 25 by 15 millimetres, on an 18 inch chain.
