The center stone is a heart cut garnet of more than five carats, set point down and gripped by prongs at the two lobes and at the tip. A close halo of small round white topaz traces the heart outline exactly, following the cleft at the top rather than rounding it away, and the pave carries on down a split shank in two narrowing rows across each shoulder before the band closes plain at the back.
Gold plated silver keeps the setting warm, which lifts the red of the garnet instead of cooling it. Sized at 7 US, the halo spreads the face wide across the finger while the heart itself stays legible from across a table.
