Three emerald cut garnets run across the top of this ring, the centre stone largest and set slightly proud, with the two beside it stepping down and turning to follow the curve of the finger. Step cut faces give each one a flat window of colour, and the red is dark, closer to brick than to cherry, holding almost black in the deepest corners.
A broad border of round white topaz surrounds the trio, packed two deep along the bottom edge and wrapping up around both ends, so the garnets sit in a wide bright field rather than in a narrow halo. The band is broad across the front and tapers to a plain shank behind. Sized 7 US.
