An oval garnet fills each stud, held in four fine claws and ringed by a single close row of small round diamonds that follows the oval exactly. The red runs very dark, going almost to black where the facets fold in at the center of the table, and the halo draws a bright continuous line around that depth so the outline of the stone stays sharp.
At 12 by 10 millimeters the pair covers the lobe and stops there, with nothing hanging below. Garnet accounts for 2.48 carats and the halos for 0.26.
