Two greens work against one another here. The cushion cut green amethyst at the center is pale and cool, close to water clear where light passes straight through, while the chrome diopsides packed around it in two concentric rings are dark and saturated by comparison. The inner halo sits tight against the girdle in small rounds, and the outer ring steps up in size, which opens the whole head out into a flower.
Twenty one diopsides around a 6.85 carat center bring the ring close to ten carats in rhodium plated silver. It covers a good part of the finger and reads green from well across a room.
