An oval green amethyst of 5.40 carats fills the face of this ring, its crown cut in a checkerboard grid that scatters light across the pale mint surface in small increments. Sixteen round peridots enclose it in a halo, each held in its own pair of prongs so the outer edge scallops like petals instead of running as a smooth circle.
The peridot green is brighter and more yellow than the quartz, so the frame lifts the center stone rather than repeating it. The head is broad and sits well up off the finger, cocktail scale on a size 7 shank, with rhodium plated silver holding both greens in a cool setting.
