A checkerboard cut oval of green amethyst fills the lower half of each drop, the faceted grid holding a pale mint green that moves as the stone turns. A full halo of small round white diamonds encircles it, and above that the mount pinches into a crossover teardrop cap set with green diamonds in a darkened metal that pushes their color deeper.
Two distinct zones of stone result: bright white ringing the quartz, moss green massed above it. At 10 by 5 millimeters the pair stays tight to the ear.
