A round green amethyst holds the center of each earring, cut in a checkerboard so its pale yellow green breaks into a grid of small squares. Four clusters of tiny green diamonds in darkened metal box it in at the corners, quatrefoil fashion, and a single white sapphire sits at each side between them, bright where everything around it is dark.
The face comes out square and it is far denser than the size suggests, with three kinds of stone at work across 9 by 6 millimeters. It fastens tight to the lobe on a clip fitting whose bridge is set with small stones as well, so there is detail behind the front as much as on it.
