A cushion cut green amethyst with a checkerboard crown sits at the centre, and around it eighteen or so round rhodolite garnets are massed in two tiers that come to a point above and below, so the outline is a long navette rather than a circle. The garnet weight is spread across all of those small stones, not held in any one of them. Pale green against raspberry red is an unusual pairing and it is the reason to look twice at this ring.
