The drop comes in three articulated parts. A straight pavé bar of small diamonds runs down from the post, carries an open circle pavé set all the way around its ring, and from that circle a jump ring hangs an emerald cut green tourmaline in four plain white claws. The tourmalines take no accent stones themselves; all thirty-six diamonds sit in the bar and the circle above them.
Step cut faces on the tourmaline give broad flat planes of green rather than scattered sparkle, so the bottom of the earring stays quiet while the top does the flashing. Twenty-two millimeters of length lets the piece swing from two hinge points, and the open circle leaves a window of white between the diamond bar and the color.
