The center stone is an emerald cut, a step cut rectangle with clipped corners, and it decides how the whole ring reads. Long parallel facets run down the tourmaline rather than the scattered flashes a brilliant would throw, so the green stays deep and continuous, darkening nearly to black at the ends and opening to a clearer bottle green across the table.
Four broad yellow gold claws fold over the clipped corners and hold the stone flat and low to the finger. Each shoulder carries two staggered rows of bead set diamonds, finished with a milgrain edge along the outside that leaves a fine beaded line where the white metal meets the gold. The band is plain 14K yellow gold, rounded through the back, and comes at size 7 US.
