One round brilliant hot pink topaz, four prongs, nothing else. The color is a saturated fuchsia that goes almost magenta where the pavilion facets meet, and the brilliant cut keeps throwing light back out of the middle of the stone rather than letting it pool.
What makes the ring is the band. Broad polished shoulders sweep up on either side and cradle the stone between them, each side carved with a long leaf shaped groove, so the topaz sits down into the metal instead of perching on a raised head. That keeps a 4.50 carat stone from catching on anything and gives the pink a bright white surround. Size 7 US.
