Two emerald cut topaz sit at the open ends of a bypass shank, one high and one low, passing each other on the diagonal so neither takes the role of center stone. Step cutting suits the pairing: the long parallel facets behave like mirrors, throwing broad planes of blue and darker banding rather than the small flashes a brilliant cut would scatter.
The shank is wide and plainly polished, tapering as it climbs to each setting, and the open crossover leaves a clear gap of skin between the two rectangles. Four claws to a stone, rhodium plated silver throughout. Size 7.
