Open, not massed. Each earring is a scrolled openwork drop: three round topaz clustered at the post, a small three stone link beneath that, then a body built from curved silver ribs that loop into two overlapping arches with air at the middle of each. The stones run in single file along those ribs, following every curve, so the blue draws lines through empty space rather than filling a solid panel.
The color is a deep teal that goes almost navy in the smallest stones, and because each one sits alone on a narrow rib with metal to either side, the light picks them off individually as the earring turns. Sixty-six stones across the pair over 4.80 carats means the stones must be very small, which is precisely what lets the scrollwork stay this fine. At 44 by 20 millimeters the drops are long but weigh little, and skin shows through the gaps in the design.
