A square cushion cabochon of moonstone, 12.78 carats, peach toned and polished smooth, sitting in a wide plain bezel. Moonstone's adularescence is a sheen that floats under the surface and moves as the stone tilts, which is why it is cut as a dome rather than faceted; a cabochon this large gives that sheen room to travel. The gallery around it is pierced openwork, warm scrolls interlaced with pale ones, and it extends the head well beyond the stone itself.
