Four morganites build each butterfly: two larger pear cuts angled up and out for the upper wings, two smaller ones tucked beneath for the lower pair, so the outline opens wide at the shoulder and draws in again below. Every wing is edged in fine white beading, which traces the shape in bright line against the rose gold sitting behind it.
Between the wings a thin rose gold body rises into two curled antennae, worked as open wire rather than as solid metal, and it is that curl which hangs from the lever back above. The morganite runs a pale peach pink, lighter still toward the tips of the pears where the stones thin out. Because each wing is a separate stone pitched at its own slight angle, the four faces take light independently and the butterfly appears to flicker as it turns. The drop measures 29 by 10 millimeters overall.
