The amethyst in each drop is a pear cut set point up, and what surrounds it is a double halo rather than a single one: an inner ring of small diamonds tight against the stone, a beaded ridge, then a second ring outside that. One hundred and twenty-two diamonds across the pair at 0.48 carat, enough that the white frame reads as a continuous band of light instead of a row of separate points, with the purple sitting deep at the middle of it.
Each drop hangs from a lever back rather than a hook, so it keeps its position at the lobe. At 32 millimeters the earrings move without swinging far, and the pear outline stays narrow at the top and full at the bottom.
