The neckline itself is built from amethyst: a riviera of prong set ovals that graduates larger as it comes forward, with no chain showing at any point across the front. At the throat the two runs cross in a small silver bow, and from that knot fall two drops of pear cut stones set point up, one longer than the other so they hang at staggered depths.
Each drop finishes in a flower head, round and pear cut amethysts massed tight around a center stone. Ninety eight stones in all carry the purple across 32 carats, and the bright silver between the claws keeps the line reading as color rather than metal. The lariat front means the piece moves with the wearer, the two flowers swinging independently.
