Thirteen round blue sapphires draw the whole form of this cross, running two above the crossbar and six below it, with two more out along each arm and a single stone at the intersection. Every sapphire sits in its own small gold prongs with no plate or frame behind it, so the outline of the cross is made by the stones rather than by metal. The thirteen together weigh 0.58 carats.
The blue is deep and close to navy, and it holds firm against the warm tone of 14K yellow gold. The pendant measures 29 by 14 millimeters and hangs from a grooved tapered bail on a fine cable chain, sitting flat and light at the throat.
